The group of Francophone ambassadors to Nigeria held its first meeting for 2024 on February 22 in Abuja.

It was attended by over 20 representatives of embassies of member and observer countries to the International Organisation of La Francophonie.

The ambassadors outlined future work in 2024, focusing on the upcoming La Francophonie Week in March and related events, the Bulgarian Embassy said.

The Embassy says that a proposal to set up a bureau was approved unanimously, and Bulgarian Ambassador Yanko Yordanov was reelected president.

The French Embassy will continue to serve as the group’s secretariat and Bissau Guinean Ambassador Joao Butiam Co was elected vice president.BTA
