Nigeria-Korea Institute Gets Board Approval

The programmes certified to run National Innovative Diploma (NID) include: Computer Software Engineering, Welding and Fabrication, Electrical and Electronic Engineering, Automotive Mechatronics Engineering and Networking and Systems Security, with effect from January 2024.

The Nigeria–Korea Friendship Institute (NKFI) of Vocational and Advanced Technology, Lokoja, Kogi state, has secured full accreditation for its five programmes submitted to the National Board for Technical Education (NBTE).

Rector of the institute, Mr. Williams Charles Oluwatoyin, confirmed this at a press conference in Lokoja on Monday.

The programmes certified to run National Innovative Diploma (NID) include: Computer Software Engineering, Welding and Fabrication, Electrical and Electronic Engineering, Automotive Mechatronics Engineering and Networking and Systems Security, with effect from January 2024.

He said prospective students and parents that the accreditation has opened a new dawn in the training of skillful and globally competitive graduates.

He noted that the institution under his leadership remain committed to raising the bar of academic excellence, fostering the actualisation of its mission and vision as well as its keen interest to emerge as a globally reputable and competitive institute of vocational and technical learning.

He thanked the immediate past governor of Kogi State, Alhaji Yahaya Adoza Bello who showed continued interest in education under which NKFI benefitted.

He also expressed gratitude to the institute’s partners, KOICA, for their commitment and support.

The Rector noted that aside the full accreditation of the courses, the Director General Government House, Dr. Shaibu Oricha has approved scholarship for 30 individuals to study for various programs of the institute.

He urged the public spirited Nigerians to emulate Dr Oricha and invest in the younger generation for the collective good of the state.

Similarly, theRector announced the opening of NKFI Automobile Workshop to the use of members of the general public as a service stations to serve their automobiles.

He said that although services rendered would come at a cost, they should be rest assured that it would be at a reduced cost.

“Members of the public are guaranteed of top notch services as we have arrays of internationally trained professionals and equipment that would guarantee your automobiles receiving the best of care,” he said.

He said the general public to visit the automobile service station which is strategically located for easy access along Felele express road, within Kogi State Polytechnic, Lokoja.

Even though the Rector commended the newly inaugurated governor of the state, Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo over their successful inauguration and a smooth transition, he mentioned that under his consolidation government, the governor has made a commitment to continue in the footprint of his predecessor, Alhaji Yahaya Bello and in fact build on the solidly laid foundation in every sectors particularly in the education sector which is of great interest to the institute.

“As an institution, we are committed to keying into the programs, plans and initiatives that are targeted towards empowering the youths,” he assured.

He noted NKFI’s positioning as a partner in progress with the administration of Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo to deliver on their mandate to the youth most especially in the area of human capital development, job creation, fostering information and Communication Technology and eradication of crimes and law-breaking.
