Dangote Cement Transport Obajana has featured 10 secondary schools in its Inter-Schools Spelling Bee and Quiz Competition as part of its 2025 Sustainability programme, themed: Sustainable Progress: Celebrating Growth and Partnerships.
The schools were drawn from the four host communities of Oyo, Iwaa, Obajana and Apata.
According to the Head of Human Resource and Admin of the Transport section, Mr. Peter Agba, the event was aimed at promoting academic excellence, intellectual engagement, and youth development in line with Dangote’s commitment to nurturing the next generation of leaders through impactful community partnerships.

In his opening remarks, Mr. Agba said the importance of investing in young minds as a pathway to achieving sustainable growth. He highlighted that empowering students through educational initiatives not only strengthens the communities but also contributes to the long-term vision of sustainability and shared prosperity.
After a series of exciting rounds marked by keen competition and teamwork, Golden Vessels Academy, Obajana, emerged as the overall winner of the Spelling Bee Session, earning well-deserved applause from the audience and fellow participants. Other schools also performed impressively, showcasing the depth of talent and knowledge among the students in the region.
The event created a vibrant atmosphere of learning, camaraderie, and healthy competition, reflecting Dangote Cement Transport’s dedication to fostering education, inclusivity, and sustainable community development.
